Das soll es ja ein wenig auch sein, immerhin ist die Szene eine deutliche Abrechnung mit Kevin McClory und seinen NSNA-Plänen.

Das ist dann wiederum die Kehrseite der Medaille. So toll ich die Sequenz am Friedhof finde, so halbgar finde ich dann das Thema Blofeld in dieser PTS.

Blofeld hat man ja nur deshalb eingebaut, weil man bereits wusste dass McClory NSNA drehen würde.

Ursprünglich wäre ja das Ende von Blofeld anders gewesen. In DAF sollte die Handlung nach der Bohrinsel wie folgt weitergehen:

Blofeld entkommt mit dem Mini U-Boot, Bond verfolgt ihn mit dem Wetterballon bis zur einer kleinen Insel. Die Verfolgung endet schließlich in einer Salzmine. Am Ende stößt Bond Blofeld in einen Salzgranulator. Als dann Whyte und Felix eintreffen, fragen sie wo ist der Bastard Blofeld? Als dann der Granulator blutbeflecktes Salz auswirft sagt Bond ""Bastard? He is the salt of the earth!"

Leider wurde aus Budgetgründen dies nie realisiert

Interessant. Woher hast du die Info? Ich dachte immer, dass Finale um Blofeld und SPECTRE wäre für "Der Spion, der mich liebte" geplant gewessen.

Maibaum may have thought the eventual oil rig finale a poor substitute, but it was originally intended to be much more spectacular. Armed frogmen would jump from the helicopters into the sea and attach limpet mines to the rig's legs (this explains why frogmen appear on the movie's poster). Blofeld would have escaped in his BathoSub and Bond would have pursued him hanging from a weather balloon. The chase would have then continued across a salt mine with the two mortal enemies scrambling over the pure white hills of salt before Blofeld would fall to his death in a salt granulator, becoming, in Bond's words, "the salt of the earth." Permission was not granted by the owners of the salt mine, and it also made the sequence too long. Further problems followed when the explosives set up for the finale were set off too early; fortunately, a handful of cameras were ready and able to capture the footage.

Eigentlich war FYEO ja gleich nach TSWLM geplant. Wurde da auch schon mit einem Drehbuchentwurf begonnen, bzw. gibt es da Genaueres dazu?

Gestern mal wieder geschaut, hauptsächlich weil meine Freundin Griechin ist.

Was wie die Faust aufs Auge passte ist der erste Kommentar von MGW in den Makings Offs:
"Wir wollten nach den vorangegangen Abenteuern Bond wieder erden, was ganz anderes machen..."

Nur daß die Faust das Auge nur so halb trifft, und dann auch eher ein Klaps als ein Schlag, schließlich wollte man ja auch niemandem ernsthaft weh tun.

Bond geerdet hat man doch. Musste ja auch sein. Noch mal ins All wäre arg lächerlich geworden. Wobei: Bond auf dem Mars? Vielleicht in Bond 25.
